Checking your DPS
Combat Analysis, training dummies and what is normal per class
Sections
Where the scarecrows are
| Faction | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Elyos | Verteron, west of the Dawn Legion Base teleport | About five; guides also mention two on the cliff facing them |
| Asmodian | Altgard, northeast of the Safe Haven teleport | Two groups on either side of a staircase, some on raised platforms |
| Your Legion Hall | Training dummies, if your Legion has unlocked them. Get there with a Return scroll from a general goods merchant, or from the Legion window (L) | StingKnight, video (2026-10-11) |
The game has a Training Scarecrow and a Melee Training Scarecrow (game text). The melee one attacks back, which is useful for practising dodges and blocks, not for reading damage.
Combat Analysis (built into the game)
The game has its own damage meter, Combat Analysis (game text). It opens from the main menu (Content) or with its key, which you can see and change under Settings > Key Settings ("Combat Analysis"; games.gg gives Ctrl + X, our read of the client's default looked like Ctrl + ]). It unlocks with an early story quest.
| Mode | How it starts |
|---|---|
| Auto-Analysis Mode | Automatically when you attack a scarecrow or a boss |
| Single-Target Mode | Select a target, press Start, then attack it |
| Multi-Target Mode | Press Start, attack anything, press Stop to end |
It shows DPS, Total Damage, Total Hits, and per skill the share of hits that were Critical (CRI), Perfect (PERF), Double (DOUB), Front (FRNT), Back (BACK) and Multi-Hit (MULT). A Detailed Mode adds damage received. Each session is saved in History (the oldest record drops when the list is full).
How to test
- Open Combat Analysis and leave it on Auto-Analysis Mode.
- Stand behind the scarecrow (back attacks count, as on a boss).
- Start from full cooldowns and use your normal opener and rotation for 3 minutes. Shorter tests overweight your burst.
- Don't use food or scrolls unless you'd use them on a boss; note it if you do.
- Compare your number with your own class and combat power bracket below, not with other classes.
What is normal (Global, EU, 3-minute scarecrow)
DPS by class and combat power bracket. "Median" means half of the logged players of that class and bracket do more. From Abyss Logs (EU, all logs to 2026-10-22; Abyss Logs only takes characters at item level 1,400 or more).
| Class | Combat power | Players | Median | Top 25% | Top 10% |

| Templar | 100k-150k | 218 | 33,200 | 43,200 | 52,900 |
Abyss Logs calls Spiritmaster "Elementalist".
KR/TW: Abyss Logs' KR/TW build has only 1 to 3 scarecrow logs per class, so there's nothing meaningful to compare yet. KR/TW is a season ahead, and its players log boss fights instead.
Reading your result
- Below the median for your bracket: the rotation is the first suspect, not gear. For Assassins, check that you open from behind, that your buffs line up and that Heart Gore follows crits (see the Assassin build from Krix Domi).
- Around the median: gear and combat power are the limit. See gear progression.
- Top 25% or better: your damage is fine for your gear. Party leaders still filter by combat power, so the number to raise is combat power.
- The jump between the two brackets (roughly double) shows how much of DPS is gear and combat power at this stage.
