The Halloween event started with the October 14 patch on Global and runs for three weeks. You collect Halloween Pumpkin Coins from daily attendance and weekly event missions, then spend them at a Coin Merchant NPC in town. A second part of the event, Candy Keys, opens three candies in town for Odyle Energy, Abyss Points and pet chests.
This page combines Anders' patch video, NCSOFT's official patch notes and the questions from the video's comments. Numbers come from the patch notes unless marked otherwise.

| Currency | Halloween Pumpkin Coin (Event) |
| Most coins you can earn | 1,325 (620 from attendance + 235 a week from missions for 3 weeks) |
| Cost of buying every item | about 1,104 |
| Lowest requirement | Level 10 for the free skin chest. Level 45 for the Odyle Energy and Rift Stones in the shop |
Can you finish it? (checked 2026-10-17)
The event has three weekly windows. Missions and the per-week shop limits reset on Wednesday at 09:00 CEST:
| Week | From | To |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Oct 14 (after maintenance) | Oct 21, 09:00 CEST |
| 2 | Oct 21 | Oct 28, 09:00 CEST |
| 3 | Oct 28 | Nov 4 maintenance (CET) |
What "100%" can mean, and whether it's still possible for a level 45 character starting now:
| Goal | Possible from today? | What it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Buy everything in the coin shop (about 1,104 coins) | Yes | All 14 attendance days (log in on 14 of the 21 days) plus most missions. You have about 221 coins of slack: you can miss all three Transcendence missions (75) and every 1,000-item-level mission in week 1 (75) and still buy everything |
| Every weekly mission every week | Weeks 2 and 3 only, if you reach 1,600 by then | Week 1's Abyss, Expedition and Ascension missions need about 1,000 item level before Oct 21; Transcendence needs 1,600 |
| The free skin (Special Halloween Chest) | Yes, today | 250 coins, level 10 |
| All 9 Candy Keys (3 colours x 3 weeks) | Maybe, with energy purchases and an alt | About 60 fragments per key and roughly 6 per Conquest run opened with 80 energy (community estimate) means about 800 Odyle Energy per key. One character can reach about 1,960 energy a week: 840 regen + 800 from Wind Breeze (20 x 40, subscription, 100,000 Kinah each) + 160 from the Coin Merchant + 160 from the Blue candy. That covers two keys a week, not three. The keys are once per week per server, so a second level 45 character farming fragments can make the third. Not proven: NCSOFT hasn't published the drop rate |
Plan: log in every day, buy the Special Halloween Chest now, buy the 4 Odyle Energy and 2 Rift Stones at the Coin Merchant every week (a skipped week doesn't carry over), spend your energy in Conquest (Krao Cave and Draupnir Conquest open at 700 item level) so the same runs give fragments and gear, and morph a Blue key each week. Spend leftover coins on Superior Power Shards at the end.
Requirements by goal
This is the short version for anyone who has not reached the level cap yet. The Global level cap is 45.
| Goal | Level | Item level | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free skin (Special Halloween Chest) | 10 | none | Spooky Scary Skeleton breastplate skin + 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals |
| Most of the shop | 10 | none | Skin chests, tickets, Shugo keys, food, Life Crystals |
| Odyle Energy and Lower Abyss Rift Stones from the shop | 45 | none | 4 Odyle + 2 Rift Stones a week |
| Every mission except Transcendence | 45 | about 1,000 (Anders) | 210 of the 235 weekly coins |
| Every mission | 45 | 1,600 | All 235 weekly coins |
| Candy Key Fragments | depends on the dungeon | Expedition and Transcendence clears | Red, Yellow and Blue candies |
Anders answered this in the comments: "Level 45 and 1600 GS is the min you need to complete all of the weeklies. Level 45 and 1000 GS for all of them but the Transcendence weekly."
You do not need to rush. A character below level 45 can still earn enough coins to buy everything it is allowed to buy. See Playing slowly: what a character below 45 gets.
How to earn Pumpkin Coins
Trick or Treat attendance (620 coins)
Open Menu > Attendance. There are 14 rewards, one per day you log in:
| Day | Coins |
|---|---|
| Days 1-6 | 35 each |
| Day 7 | 100 |
| Days 8-13 | 35 each |
| Day 14 | 100 |
| Total | 620 |
The event lasts 21 days, so you can miss up to 7 days and still collect all 14 rewards.
Weekly event missions (235 coins a week)
Open Season Mission > Event. All ten missions reset weekly and count once per week per server, so only one character on each server earns them. Do them on the character you want the coins on.

| Mission | Task | Coins | Needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| [Event] Log in | Log in 3 times | 30 | nothing |
| [Event] Use a Scroll | Use 5 scrolls | 20 | nothing |
| [Event] Obtain Gear | Get 1 piece of Unique gear | 20 | a Unique drop |
| [Event] Shugo Festival | Join the Shugo Festival once | 20 | level 13 |
| [Event] Nightmare | Clear a Nightmare boss once (any stage) | 25 | level 45 |
| [Event] Dimensional Invasion | Join a Dimensional Invasion once | 20 | level 45 (see the note below) |
| [Event] Abyss | Hunt 10 monsters in the Abyss | 25 | level 45 + 1,000 item level |
| [Event] Expedition | Clear an Expedition Conquest once | 25 | about 1,000 item level |
| [Event] Ascension Trial | Clear the Ascension Trial once | 25 | about 1,000 item level (sources disagree, see below) |
| [Event] Transcendence | Clear a Transcendence dungeon once | 25 | 1,600 item level |
| Total | 235 |
Most of these are things a level 45 character already does every week. A commenter also pointed out that Transcendence stage 1 is the hardest task on the list, and it is in reach of alts.
Notes on the requirements:
- Abyss: our PvP modes page lists level 45 and 1,000 item level for Lower Reshanta. Hunting 10 monsters there is enough; you do not need to fight players.
- Ascension Trial: Anders puts it in the 1,000 item level group. Grobs' checklist says 1,500 item level unlocks the normal tier. If the trial will not let you in, that mission waits until you are stronger.
- Dimensional Invasion: Anders calls it "spatial invasion" in the video. The client counts it as its own world content (achievements titled "Dimension Defender"), separate from Spacetime Rifts. Join one when it shows up on the map.
Coins over the whole event
The event covers three weekly resets of the missions, so:
- 620 (attendance) + 3 x 235 (missions) = 1,325 coins.
Coin Merchant: where it is
A Coin Merchant NPC stands in each faction's towns:
| Faction | Region | Towns |
|---|---|---|
| Elyos | Verteron | Dawn Legion Base, Zumion Village |
| Asmodians | Altgard | Safe Haven, Nornir Assembly |
Coin Merchant: what to buy

1. Special Halloween Chest first
| Item | Cost | Limit | Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Halloween Chest | 250 | 1 per server | 10 |
It gives the Spooky Scary Skeleton (Skin: Breastplate) and 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals. This is the "free Halloween skin" from the video title. Only one per server, so open it on the character that should wear it.
2. Weekly items (limit per server, resets every week)
| Item | Cost each | Weekly limit | Cost for all | Level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odyle Energy (Bound) | 10 | 4 | 40 | 45 |
| Lower Abyss Rift Stone (Bound) | 30 | 2 | 60 | 45 |
| Skin Chest (10 times) (Bound) | 15 | 5 | 75 | 10 |
| Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound) | 2 | 10 | 20 | 10 |
| Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) | 3 | 7 | 21 | 10 |
| Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket (Bound) | 7 | 3 | 21 | 10 |
| Shugo Festival Reward Key (Bound) | 7 | 3 | 21 | 10 |
| Total | 258 |
The limits are per server, so you cannot buy a second set on an alt. Savvvo Games' order after the chest: Odyle Energy, then Nightmare tickets and Shugo Festival keys (Nightmare and Shugo currencies buy Stigma shards and Daevanion crystals), then Rift Stones if you farm the Abyss. Buy the weekly items every week: a week you skip does not carry over.
3. One-time items (limit per character)
| Item | Cost each | Limit | Cost for all |
|---|---|---|---|
| Life Crystal (Bound) | 2 | 20 | 40 |
| Halloween Candy (Bound) | 2 | 10 | 20 |
| Halloween Cookie (Bound) | 2 | 10 | 20 |
| Total | 80 |
Both foods last 5 minutes and add 40% natural stamina regeneration:
- Halloween Candy: Attack +25, Defense +250, Max Stamina +300.
- Halloween Cookie: Max HP +500, Max MP +250, Max Stamina +300.
4. Leftover coins into Superior Power Shards
| Item | Cost | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Power Shard (Bound) | 1 | none |
Spend whatever is left here at the end of the event.
Full buyout math
| Purchase | Coins |
|---|---|
| Special Halloween Chest | 250 |
| Weekly items, 3 weeks (3 x 258) | 774 |
| One-time items | 80 |
| Everything | 1,104 |
| Coins available if you do every mission | 1,325 |
| Left for Power Shards | about 221 |
Anders' rounding in the video is "around 1,100" spent and "about 200" left. Same result.
Candy Keys and the three candies
Candies are placed around the towns. Each one needs a matching key.
- Candy Key Fragments drop as rewards from Expedition Conquest and Transcendence dungeons (patch notes). ElWaton lists Conquest in every expedition (Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, Draupnir, Vakarn Sky Island, Ferocious Horn Den) and all four stages of both Transcendence dungeons. Several creators and commenters got none from Exploration.
- [Verified 2026-10-17, game client] Conquest entry: Krao Cave and Draupnir at 700 item level, Urugugu Canyon 1,400, Fire Temple 2,100. Transcendence (Deus Research Base) from 1,200.
- [Community] About 6 fragments per Conquest run when you open the cube (StingKnight: "about 30 pieces" after "hundreds" of energy; two written guides land on ~10 runs per key). NCSOFT hasn't published the rate.
- 60 fragments make one key through Substance Morph (100% success).

- You can morph one Red, one Yellow and one Blue key per week per server.
- Extra fragments: 1 fragment morphs into 10 Superior Power Shards, with no limit. That is a much better rate than coins (1 coin per shard), so morph spare fragments rather than letting them sit.
What each candy gives (you get everything listed):
| Candy | Contents |
|---|---|
| Blue | 4 Odyle Energy (Bound), 10 Resurrection Spiritstones, 5 Halloween Candy, 5 Halloween Cookies |
| Yellow | 10,000 Abyss Points, 10 Life Crystals, 5 Halloween Candy, 5 Halloween Cookies |
| Red | 20 Growth Pet Chests (Bound), 10 Battle Enhance Scrolls (Bound), 5 Halloween Candy, 5 Halloween Cookies |
Which key first: Anders makes the key he needs most first, and for him that is the Odyle one. His order is Blue > Yellow > Red. "If you can only get Blue and Yellow every week, it's good enough."
Fragments come slower than coins. Anders says the fragments are the part that takes longest. Every creator we checked ranks the candies Blue > Yellow > Red (Anders, Savvvo Games, LeoPio, ElWaton, Aragon): Blue gives Odyle Energy, Yellow 10,000 Abyss Points (a Stigma shard or Daevanion crystals), Red pet chests.
Odyle Energy during the event
The patch also changes how much Odyle Energy you can buy while server transfers are open. Together with the event, a level 45 character can add per week:
| Source | Odyle Energy per week | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Coin Merchant | 4 (per server) | 40 coins, level 45 |
| Blue Candy | 4 (per server) | 60 Candy Key Fragments |
| Wind Breeze Merchants > Special | 20 per character (was 4) | The 16 per server weekly limit is removed during the transfer period |
The Wind Breeze Merchant Special tab is the membership shop (Bound Kinah). In the same tab, the Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon and Soul Crystal move to Substance Morph > Special > Wind Breeze Merchants for the transfer period. Anders: if you play for free, this is a good time to pick up Soul Crystals you normally cannot get. After the transfer period they should return to the membership shop.
Creators read the Wind Breeze change the same way: 20 per character per week, bought with that character's own Kinah, and it can't go to server storage, so an alt can't buy it for your main (LeoPio, Aragon, Sen Evades, xMontu). Spid's take: it makes alts much stronger; he'd rather have an account-wide limit.
See Odyle Energy rules for how energy works in general.
Playing slowly: what a character below 45 gets
Several commenters below level 45 felt the event was locked behind endgame content. The patch notes show it is less locked than it looks:
| Coins | |
|---|---|
| Attendance (14 logins in 21 days) | 620 |
| Log in 3 times, 3 weeks | 90 |
| Use 5 scrolls, 3 weeks | 60 |
| Shugo Festival once, 3 weeks (level 13+) | 60 |
| Total without any endgame content | 830 |
| Unique gear mission, if you get Unique drops | +60 |
What a character below 45 can buy:
| Purchase | Coins |
|---|---|
| Special Halloween Chest | 250 |
| Weekly items without Odyle and Rift Stones (158 a week x 3) | 474 |
| One-time items | 80 |
| Total | 804 |
So a slow player gets the skin chest, every level 10 item and still has coins for Power Shards. What you miss below 45 is the Odyle Energy and Lower Abyss Rift Stones in the shop and the Candy Keys.
Anders adds that a friend of his has only levelled alts to 45 and has not touched tier 3 dungeons yet, and that there is "zero reason" to worry about dailies, weeklies or the future raid right now.
Other changes in the same patch
Conquerors of the Abyss (Kinah event)
- Runs: until maintenance on Oct 27 (PDT) / Oct 28 (CET).
- Abyss Rift Stone (Event) for 50,000 Kinah each, 7 per character per week, level 45 and up.
- Where: Shop > Wind Breeze Merchants > Special.
- The same tab also sells Lower Abyss Rift Stone (7-day) for two weeks.
Abyss and Battlefield
- Two weekly Abyss Season Missions now also give Abyss Entry Stones: "Spend 1 Hour in the Abyss" and "Defeat the Boss Guardian Lord Nahma Once".
- Maximum stored Abyss entry time is now 7 hours.
- NC says stuttering in large Abyss battles is reduced. Anders found sieges playable on his settings, with the opening clashes still turning into a slideshow.
- Battlefield (10v10) base stats were adjusted to make matches last longer. NC gave no numbers. Anders: matches ended too fast, because after two early deaths teammates ran in one at a time and died.
Spiritmaster and Sorcerer fixes
| Class | Skill | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Spiritmaster | Summon: Ancient Spirit | At skill level 15 or below, the spirit did not use its skills properly |
| Sorcerer | Fire Wall | No bonus damage with a height difference; your Embers could be replaced by another player's stronger Embers |
| Sorcerer | Cold Storm | No bonus damage with a height difference; your Frostbite could be replaced by another player's stronger Frostbite |
| Sorcerer | Bittercold Wind | Frost cooldown reduction did not work with a height difference |
Anders: the height bug mostly mattered in PvP, since most PvE fights are on flat ground. The overwrite bug mattered in parties with two Sorcerers: if the other one had better gear, you lost damage.
Market, settings and technical fixes
- Gathering materials on the Market: listing them is now limited based on your gameplay history. This targets gathering bots and gold sellers. A commenter levelling gathering on a level 20 character reports getting four captchas in a row on one node and a "disabled for repeated use" message on another.
- Settings: an option to invert the Y axis, and a show or hide HP bars option under "Show My Nameplate". Anders likes this one: you can now hide your name and keep the stamina and HP bars visible.
- Fixes: wrong graphics settings on PCs with two graphics cards, crashes on some 4K monitors at certain refresh rates, longer loading with FSR, and your position resetting when reconnecting during the Shugo Festival.
- Graphics settings are no longer saved to Steam Cloud.
Halloween cash shop
On sale until maintenance on Nov 24 (PST) / Nov 25 (CET). Prices are from the Purple Store and can differ per store.
| Item | Price | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Monarch of Blood (skin set, with cloak) | $29.99 | |
| Midnight Witch (skin set) | $29.99 | |
| Midnight Slasher (skin set) | $29.99 | |
| Halloween Night weapon skin (one per class weapon) | $11.99 | class-locked |
| Pet: Pumpkin Carriage | $19.99 | 1 per server |
| Pet: Little Ghost | $19.99 | 1 per server |
| Spider Wings | $19.99 | 1 per character |
| Halloween helms, eyewear and facewear (15 items) | 300 Quna each |
A commenter notes you can farm Kinah, sell it for Quna and buy store outfits that way.
Server transfer limits
NC posted a notice on Oct 14, before transfers open:
- Every server has a limit on transfers in and out. The remaining slots update every hour on the hour.
- If a server hits its limit, transfers close for that round. You can try again next round.
- If a server gets an excessive number of requests, transfers in and out of it may close permanently.
- You can only move to a server of the same faction in the same region.
Anders: if you want a popular server, keep a second choice ready. When this happened in KR, most players tried to get onto the same server and few made it.
From the comments (Anders' answer): Launch server to Early Access server works. Early Access server to launch server does not. Commenters disagree with each other on this; NC's Server Transfer Q&A is the source to check.
KR developer livestream: what it means for Global
Anders summarizes the latest KR developer livestream, because most of it compares KR with Global:
- Fixes Global already has will come to KR in stages. Changes that get good feedback on Global go to KR as soon as possible.
- Combat speed and cooldown reduction are extremely high in KR, which makes macros very strong. KR skills and systems will be reworked so manual play feels as good as on Global. The developers said Global runs better mainly because of the lower combat speed (less network traffic per player). Anders' takeaway: do not expect Global to reach KR combat speeds.
- Abyss and PvP entry: the gear threshold should come down. A gear gap should exist, but it is too large now. PvP damage has been cut by 30% so far, with a wider rework planned.
- KR content: the main complaint is that Snowfield of Sorrow, the newest raid, is the only thing to do. The developers think Expedition and Transcendence difficulty was set too low and will separate difficulty levels more clearly.
- Snowfield of Sorrow rift mechanic: meant to be handled by two ranged DPS or two supports. It often failed, so groups took ranged DPS over melee. This week's KR update lets supports handle it easily.
- Housing is in final testing. Delays come from wall and floor pattern placement and furniture resizing.
- Rankings are changing so players do not only push at the end of a season.
Anders' conclusion: the Global changes were not a one-off launch event. Feedback on Global decides what reaches KR, so forum posts and surveys matter. A commenter asked where those forums and surveys are, since nothing has arrived by in-game mail yet.
What commenters said
- Event feels endgame-locked (the top comment). Anders' answer with the level 45 / 1,000 / 1,600 numbers is in Requirements by goal. Another commenter disagreed that anything on the list is endgame.
- Free skin: several commenters found the breastplate skin weak next to the $29.99 sets. Anders thinks the free Twitch drop skin was better and that a pumpkin head cosmetic or an emote would have suited the event.
- Bots: many reports of gathering bots. Anders would like daily ban waves and bans for buyers of real-money gold too.
- Where is the shop? At the Coin Merchant in the towns listed in Coin Merchant: where it is.
Open questions
- Coin binding: the missions are once per week per server and the main shop limits are per server, but the patch notes do not say whether coins themselves are shared between characters on a server. The per-character items (Life Crystals and food) suggest alts can buy those with their own coins.
- Attendance: per account, per server or per character is not stated.
- Fragment drops: NCSOFT hasn't published a rate; players estimate about 6 per Conquest run (above). Exploration seems to give none.
- Dimensional Invasion: the client has it as its own counted world content (achievements "Participate in Dimensional Invasion", titled "Dimension Defender"), listed separately from rifts. ElWaton completed the mission by joining one. Which on-map event it is exactly hasn't been checked in game yet.
- Ascension Trial: the item level that unlocks the tier counted by the mission (Anders' 1,000 vs Grobs' 1,500).
